Human Connection
I was walking along while my soul was tethered,
when my eyes fell upon a man well weathered.
His eyes were heavy and his soles bare,
the glacing eyes didn't shine with a single care.
To help means time and time means money, so no compassion was given,
so the others moved on just to keep on living.
The passerbys find it easy to accept the poor mans fate,
they rush on to prevent from being late.
The fast paced world couldn't stop to feel,
they instead wallowed in human ignorance that is all too real,
Why should it matter if it wasn't themselves?
They were cut off from the sympathy they didn't know all too well.
They never realize how alike they are,
falsely believing hardships and money sets them afar.
The human connecton to them is broken,
and the similarities between is left unspoken.
So the onlookers walked blindly on their way,
never stopping to consider it may be them someday.
