Human Dissatisfaction

no matter where we are

everything is so damn far

our hearts yearn for something more

while everything we are given is disquised by a whore

it starts when we're young and so alive

only to have our parents turn everything into a dive

authority disiplinary doesn't end there

only now blue is the color they wear

certain things are supposed to give us a lift

whether it's from a bottle or blunt, it never quite fits

just take a little more, that's all we need

but eventually we turn to something with a little more speed

it's the tingle we get when a hand runs down our side

it's the exhileration we feel when there's nothing left to hide

we surrender ourselves to the utmost satisfaction

to a feeling they say will release all your tension

the lights finally come back on and we're all alone

stripped of everything we once were, no where is home

left feeling alone and hollow

our hearts ache for we have nothing left to follow

realization sets in and it doesn't sit well

for our entire lives we have been under a spell

we never have and never will be fully satisfied

the only thing left to look forward to is the day we die.
