'Human Nature'

I find myself regretting more of what I say every day even though I’m talking less I can’t listen to silence anymore because it leaves me alone with my thoughts We say such stupid things we don’t mean, building up walls that don’t belong defensive might as well be graffitied on our hearts While these walls grow stronger what really matters crumbles souls withering away with every addition of another brick Torment from self-doubt is projected on to others, it’s not their fault it’s just a burden we can’t bear alone If I could I would take some of the weight off your shoulders and split it between the two of us but life isn’t fair I’m trying to figure this out, but all I’m doing is over-thinking everything. So I paint on paper, since canvases mean commitment, even when the colors won’t stay where I put them the lines between blurred with like rainbows of confusion The painting might as well be a magic eight ball even then I wouldn’t know which answer to show maybe something vague like ‘try again later’ I’ll let my painting show what my words can’t
