human nature

i watch you the way a caged bird watches the sky and when i think of you i see those blue eyes

(they are my sky)

and they look into mine and, oh god, i'm pretty sure you can read me like a book because i've got my heart

sewn on my fucking sleeve, so in all honesty i'm like a children's picture book you've been able to read since age four,

but really all i've got to say is when you pack up your old stuffed animals and throw

away your kindergarten drawings that you don't leave me behind,

because really when you take the time to read me you will find that i am more complicated than Tolstoy.
