Humanity

A gunshot in my own house - Oakland

One life lost, damn

Malaysian air crash - a tragedy

Two hundred lives lost, i’m sorry

Attack of September 11th

Thousands of lives lost

Where is our Humanity?

The Khmer Rouge - My own ancestral country

Millions of lives lost
forever written in our history

So we come to this conclusion that humans will NEVER change
That our purpose is to only kill each other and Submerge in our own pleasures

that we don’t know nothin’ bout peace and being SANE

What a fucking stereotype.

It’s like saying you hate one race for the mistakes of a few
Like you hate a nigga from the hood, just cos he’s wearing a jankyass jacket and holding a worthless bag of skittles
So when you say you lost faith in humanity
When you choose to be-little humans

I feel sorry for you.

You choose to judge and stereotype us Humans as one disgraceful entity

You decide to focus on the negatives of history
and fail to see that not everyone is like this -

Yeah.

There are actual people on this earth who want to make this world a better place
for their children, for younger generations, to change the political stereotypes we live with EVERY day.

Did you forget about our founding fathers? the boston tea party?
peace movement in Berkeley?
Our civil war for freedom, fight for integration?
how we sat in the back of a bus because we will never let anyone tell us what we can’t do
WE WILL NEVER LET ANYONE TELL US WHAT WE CAN’T DO

so when you say you lost faith in humanity

You better change your fucking perspective.

cos humans?
man we’re beautiful
from our eyes to our feet

our messed up haircuts to the way we speak
the words we spit, to our endless friendships

We got minds with no limits,

the only thing stopping us is the mindset of I CAN’T do this

our life does have meaning.
we’re all here for a purpose
so when you say you lost faith in your own humanity

Don’t give up.
