Humanity

Dear Humanity,

We have to stop being blind.

Think back to a time when our light still shined.

Memories of a better time.

Although not quite as sublime. 

We have lost ourselves in today.

Drifting as we stray, farther from the way.

How did we come to split?

Allow ourselves to be drawn to conflict?

What malice do we hold within?

To end even children, who have yet to sin.

Far have we went, alliances rent.

Nothing made but an endless lament. 

Full of torture and torment.

Now who has done this through?

Now I give you a clue.

Go and take a look in the mirror.

The truth becoming ever clearer.

It is humanity that causes the suffering.

Us who responds with sullen shuffling.

We need to change.

We need to not be so strange.

To think of the future and our end.

To achieve it we must defend.

Against all of the hate and stupidity.

Only after we come together in unity.

Can we survive the future with impunity.
