Humanity: The Plague
The earth is sustaining humanity
But she has fallen in her old age
She’s endured the Ice Age and dinosaurs
She’s endured solar flares and meteors
But she is in a losing battle with humanity
Humanity is punishing the earth
She brings us everything we need to live
And then we give her landfills
She creates breathtaking views
And we strip them down for gold and silver
Humans take and they take but never think
Now she is dying and we don’t know what to do
The heat is killing her, but it’s also killing us
So now we search for a new earth, one untouched by humanity
So we can start again, humanity becoming a plague
