From Humble Beginnings

Rising, rising above the ashes Struggling to take flight. Bound by the weights of my past. Chained by other’s mistakes. My wing’s clipped, sheared off by those who I thought would guide me. Their murderous intent, mistaken for A gentle breeze. The air before me is heavy with contempt. Corrupt with storms, threatening to blow me off course. Thick with smog, choking out all life. Yet I fly ahead blindly. Struggling against the winds that buffet me, trying to push me back. To see me fall, to strip away my flight. As if my accomplishments A worthy of resent Struggling to leave my own trail across the sky. To reach unsurpassed glory so my triumphs overshadow the scars from my past.
