The Hummingbird

The hummingbird came and went for years

They would sit and watch the eggs hatch

and watch them fly away

But one day she fell

and couldn’t watch them fly anymore

The hummingbird still came and went

He would describe the eggs to her

and how they would fly away

But one day she didn’t wake up

and couldn’t hear about them fly anymore

The hummingbird still comes and goes

He sits and watches the eggs hatch

and watches them fly away

But every time he saw her

and watched her fly away
