Humpty Dumpty

Humpty Dumpty walked along the wall

Walking steadily as the darkness of night began to envelope his surroundings

For any regular egg, this would have been difficult

But Humpty made this walk often

It was cold this night so Humpty was already in a hurry to get home

Footsteps is what Humpty began to here

And with each footstep Humpty went from a light jog to an all out run

Put your hands up son an officer said getting closer

Humpty didn't know what he'd done wrong

Humpty stopped and shakily turned to the officer

He was terrified

He had every right to be

For what happened was all to real to be written about in a fairytale

When Humpty turned he startled the officer

The officer fired on young Humpty

After being shot Humpty fell from the wall

The officer had fled the scene

And as the morning sun had begun to rise

All of the king's horses and all the king's men didn't care if Humpty was put together again
