Hunger

Lost, alone, and poor she cries

hunger comes like a beast consumes

she begs for him to notice, but he just stares

she begins to think that no one even cares.

Hunger comes again she begs

die in the night so she can make amends

late in the day she goes

on the lake she lies

if she will ever leave,

no one knows.
