The Hunger

You’re like a drug

I’m hooked

And can’t quit you.

You’re like a drug:

you make me hungry,

hungry for more.

I say I hate you

but you’re a drug

a drug that doesn’t fulfill.

You have a hunger in your eyes,

one that can’t be satisfied

Every time I see your gaze

I see that familiar flash of hunger:

the look of craving

and hint of desire.
