The Hunger Games

This isn't a motion picture, this is reality

With an increasing rate of child mortality

More and more kids everyday are born on Earth

And everyones life has been worth it since birth

But without the proper items necessary to survive

Most of them are born then a few years later, they die

Hunger, a problem that is worldwide

Looking at some images can make one cry

A child begging for food and you can see his ribs

Sometimes I wonder why cant people stop taking and just give

Why cant the rich just give to the poor

So the poor can stop asking for more

And more kids in this world can stop dying

And more mothers can stop crying

Over the fact that their children cant even eat

But most kids only worry about the shoes on their feet

Why cant we take that money we spend and buy some food

And stop worrying about what shoes make you cool

And start thinking about the kids who sit there and starve

Cuz with that their life has already been carved

Or set in stone as another child is born in a broken home

When you look at them and you can look down to the bone

You dont even have to look in their eyes

To see the pain felt down deep inside

This world is crazy when all we care about is fame

When many more just wanna finally get out of the hunger games.

10.9 million children under 5 die every year in developing countries. Malnutrition and hunger-related diseases cause 60 percent of these deaths.
