Hungover

Drink, drink, drink until you drop,

Laughs, tears and banter,

Belly hurts so much,

Think I'm going to flop.

Drink, drink, drink until you drop,

Get me an eighth, a quarter,

I ain't ready to go home yet,

The crack is mighty, Don't stop.

Drink, drink, drink until you drop,

The day has gone, The day is night,

I can't believe we've drank for 12 hours solid,

One more beer, on the hop.

Drink, drink, drink until you drop,

Taxi cabs and blow jobs,

Looking in his rear view mirror, Smiling,

'Oi mate, you better fuckin stop'.

Drink, drink, drink until you drop,

Home now, head spinning,

Nostrils clogged and burning,

Sleeping pill before bed, then flop.

Drink, drink, drink until you drop,

Body wired, Heart pumping,

5 hours kips, Head spinning,

Wake up in a right strop.

Drink, drink, drink until you drop,

Semi-comatosed on the sofa,

Feel like shit,

I wish this feeling would stop.

Drink, drink, drink until you drop,

Next day comes,

Clarity of thought for an hour,

Never again, I'm going to stop.

Drink, drink, drink until you drop,

Weekend comes, Wanna be good,

Text messages from a friend,

Meet in a boozer, few beevies, I'm shot.

WestLondonMan

Like a lot of us been through shitty parts in my life. In 2018 I was living in London, attending a part time acting school. It was a great time. Also I was presenting at an event, one of the tutors at the acting school took me under his wing and mentored me. Part of that process he taught me how to write poetry, or at least express myself through it. Now, I write a poem every day, I write for a hobby. I've had a varied career, the only thing I can say is writing is the best things I've ever done. I absolutely love it. Have got 14 publications on a short story website and launching my own website in December 2022, http://www.PeterGreenhall.com Feel free to add any comments. I hope you enjoy reading my poems as much as I enjoyed putting them together.
