Hungry Argument

When I am hungry, my belly grumbles

Listen closely; you can hear its mumbles

It says, “Hey, can you give me some food?

If not I’ll put you into a bad mood”

I’ll say, “Maybe, but I don’t have the time

I’ll get some chicken, potatoes, and thyme

Or some beef stew, it truly will be great

All of this will come if you can wait”

“Wait!? Ha! Do you know who is in control?

Feeding me is just like, paying a toll”

My belly argues, stopping my motion

As if I’d drunk a magical potion

I don’t like my belly, it is so rude

But it has a point, I’ll go get some food
