The Hungry Waves of a Stormy Night


Steely gray, dark and vast

The foggy heavens grow

Billowing sails from the mast

Mock hungry waves below

 

Our wooden ship crashes, tumbles

On once-calm waters of the sea

Sky above flashes and rumbles

Awaiting us, impatiently

 

Satisfied, they cease their fit

With no signs of their plunder

But we've not stayed to see it

Instead, we are deep under
