Hunter

Wicked is the demon cloaked in white
Preaching archaic solutions
As if he knows they are right
Building monuments to the sky
Leading in the flock
Biding his time
A rabid wolf when out of sight

I am the hunter of the hunted
Waiting in the promised land

Hey everyone, I'm a very thoughtful and introspective aspiring writer. I've gone through some heavy stuff and writing helps tremendously and I joined powerpoetry to keep me inspired and going and help deal with the demons. I love music, making independent short films and music videos and of course writing.

Didn't get an email notification or anything. My gmail was tired of filtering the comments into the spam folder I suppose. But I really appreciate the comment! I'm not going to say how it was meant to be read, because poetry is supposed to be about interpretation and finding a meaning as a reader. I can see a religious parallel working into the mix though. I did use some religious phrases I'm familiar with, but just because I liked the way they fit the poem.

It really means a lot to be getting so much positive feed back. I honestly hadn't written poetry in a long time, but when I found the community I decided to give this a chance and didn't expect so much positve feedback. I'm not all about the scholarships either, I just write and share and if anything comes from it I'd be thrilled but writing is so much more than just a lucritive venue, it's what I am most passionate about in the world and I am so thankful for all the postivity I got from a poem I didn't think was that great!

This poem really interests me, I read it with a religious parallel in mind. I'm not sure if that's how it was meant to read, but it worked beautifully. Really impressed.

SJ
