hunter strong

bathing suite clad bodies, cotton candy stained tounges, small fingers gripping bigger hands for security. care free laughter and squeels of happiness. the gleam in a child's eye, cold drinks passed around, plates of food and stories to be told. all those blessings lost. and just like my childhood, my innocence, my first kiss, all things he's robbed me of and he continues to take more. he takes and steals without trying. he ruined my life as if it was a sport to him. all of my simple pleasures have been smothered like a candle flame. he has stolen these things from me because i let him. my silence was his permission. i hid from everyones eyes, especially his, and he hunted me like wild game. now it's his turn to run. his time to hide. my silence is over, my lies of omission long since passed. it is time for the tides to turn. the hunter becomes the hunted. my victimization is over and his persecution begins. annd when the sun sets on his time it will rise with me victorious and strong. victim no more. prey no more. hunter strong and wild like the wind.
