Hurricane

In every kind of dream

I am a hurricane

Destruction following me

Across delicate islands

But then I turn to see

Pieces of me

Falling along with the

Scattered appendages

Of palm trees and

Window glass

I am a flower

Small and blooming

Through approaching

Storm winds

Water-beaten and

Weary, my petals

Lay lifeless as

The storm clears

I am a child

Staring out of

Water-beaded

Windows,

Clenching sides of

Blanket,

Later collecting

Pieces of petal

From soggy earth

I am a cloud

Watching over

Broken pieces of island

Tempting hurricane winds

To pull me into the

Spinning

Windshields and

Rooftops splayed

Across watery

Ground-

A beautiful landscape,

Finger-painted by

Nature

I am a

Hurricane Kaleidoscope

Distorting the view
