Hurricane Fran

I was bathed in cloaked shadows and flames of ferocious heat,

wreaking havoc everywhere I went.

I was a monstrous demon emptying its poisonous chemicals all

through the cityscape, hungering for blood and screaming souls.

I was a vicious bitch, ripped, and a sharp saw-tooth tongue.  I

hissed and howled in the horizon, my darkness engulfing the

sunken sky.

I couldn’t help myself from the torture I inflicted on the world.

I was just a ruthless, whirling ball of fiery lightning, gaining speed

each ticking beat across the skyline, loudly laughing at the dead.

My name is Travis Green and I was born and raised in Middlesex, North Carolina. I grew up with my mom, Sandra Mitchener, and raised as a single child. My dad, Robert Lee Green, died in a car wreck when I was a baby. I graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor's degree in English in 2012. I'm also a visual artist who loves to draw pretty much anything in the world. I've been drawing for nearly 14 years. I recently published my poetry book, Life and Dreams in Poetic Words, and my autobiography, The Makings of Life and Dreams. My focus is to keep moving forward and chase after my dreams.
