Hurt

I loved you even though I always knew you'd never reprehend the same feelings for me

You used me for my body and took advantage of my caring personality for your selfishness

While I used you for nothing, taking advantage of being the person that stands beside you when no one else does

I allowed myself to put extreme effort into trying for a human being that didn't even reciprocate the effort back in the slightest bit

despite you having to do nothing by just being yourself and it tricked me into falling deeper into this rabbit hole I called "love"

Your darkest hours are when I shone my light to be there for you and you took control of that making it my downfall trusting you

everything about you changed from when I met you to now when you live down my street acting like I'm a stranger

when a year ago, we were alone in your room and you were leaving your fingerprints on my skin and spending time with each other every day

we were the couple that "I never thought that'd happen" and "aww she should be good for him" but you changed and ruined it

blocking me out of your life and not answering me believing I cheated with your "friends", the same "friends" that flirted with me countlessly

one week after what to me was the best relationship I could have ever pictured, your tongue was down multiple girls throats

something changed you and it remains a mystery to me but I know deep down you still care and I still care too

but the person I loved is gone and that trust can never be rebuilt no matter how bad I want it too

for now we are just "strangers" who used to be, living down from each other on the same street.

because I loved you is why I stayed and because you used me is why you left
