Hurt

Every day, You hurt me. I'm not hurt physically, But emotionally.... mentally. You beat me With words, not fists. "You are worthless!" You lash out at me With lies, not whips. "You mean nothing!" You control me With intimidation, not authority. "You can't escape me!" Every day, You kill me. I am not dead physically, But emotionally...mentally. You stab me With threats, not knives. "You are going to regret that!" You strangle me With misplaced guilt, not hands. "It's all your fault!" You suffocate me With lack of love, not lack of breath. "I wish you were never born!" Every day, I wonder, "Why me?"
