Hurt
Why do you love to see me cry?
I'm all alone and you don’t see
that the words you say
the things you do
they all hurt
they hurt like a thousand knives
they hurt worse than a heartbreak
more than the bite of a snake
it’s these things that you do
that make me want to go.
Leave and never come back
You thought these feelings I lack.
But those words come with meaning
and for me words speak louder
than any action carried out
words that make me want to shout.
Scream from the rooftops
of a thousand buildings
So again I say they hurt
they hurt when you call me names
they hurt when you refuse to look my way
when you refuse to see that on the inside I’m drowning.
Because of you I feel these things
so why do it?
why make me hurt?
I try to understand but all that comes is confusion.
What did I ever do?
So again I ask why make me hurt?
Why take something so fragile and put it in the dirt?
