Hurt and Bewildered
Hurt and bewildered.
Are what I felt,
When I found out about your existence.
Hurt and bewildered,
Are what I felt,
When my ‘father’ died
When I was 12 years old.
Hurt and bewildered,
Are what I felt,
When I learned,
He was not my real father.
Hurt and bewildered,
Are what I felt,
When I learned,
I do not know
Who my real father is.
Hurt and bewildered,
Are what I felt,
When you sent
A stack of birthday cards
On my eighteenth birthday.
Hurt and bewildered,
Are what I felt,
When I realized
Everyone knew
Except me.
