hurt: a poem

i have been hurt

in many ways,

maybe just

a few--

but it feels like

a lot.

writing

can make things look

more real,

and sound

like a truly dramatic event--

one that was meant to happen,

or maybe it wasn't

meant to happen, but

now at least,

it feels important.

it feels dramatic.

it feels like

reality,

whether or not

that reality was

meant

to be.
