Hurtings

More painful than a heartache or toothache,

Her soul numb and stung by the same feelings felt before.

"It hurts! It hurts!" Her voice echo's down the hallway.

This agony anylonger prolonged could cause any eyes to water,

she could lose every tear!

Don't you wonder why she sleeps atop her pillows,

dreaming sweetly of the tall green willows by her door?

She's got to get rid of her feelings,

smiling even thought the last bit of her is far from healing.

She smiles and it hurts so bad, a frown and the pain is worse.

She keeps her feelings away from her dreams,

until the day she no longer could.

Now she sleeps on the hardwood floors and wanders at night.

Her hair is tangled and her lips are swollen.

Pain has shown its tattered form,

her corpse now twisted and blue.

A green willow couldn't save her now,

even if it knew her pain....
