Shush, don’t say a word, just let it happen
The boot doesn’t hurt that much, and it’s cleaner then people make it sound.
It’s easier just to let things happen.
Right?

Evil societies always kill their consciences, as James Farmer knows,
So Langston Hughes sings, too, America,
And Martin Luther will not remember the words of his enemies,
Only the silence of his friends.
And if we remain silent, what part of us would die?

Speak up America, let your voice be heard.
Hush kills and it stifles
Don’t be silent, America,
Because everyone deserves to speak
