Hush
I can’t express myself or say how I feel
It’s all in my head so I try like it’s real
I try to get it out
Over you as you shout
I can’t spit it out
My throats locked up
My lips are sealed
My mind is running free
Buzzing like a bee
But the stinger of it all
Is the look when I fall
I’m down on the ground
My heart heavy like a hundred pounds
Holding me down
I struggle to get up
Hold my arms up and reach for a chance to grip to speech but fall back down again
I’m speechless.
Staring into the empty room
That’s lit up by the darkness and gloom
a bold dark doom,
It burns into my soul
Tearing a hole
Ripping it open before sewing me shut
A poor job done by the Seamstress of Death
So here I am sitting.
Alone in my world.
A lonesome burden to bear
But it seems no one will care
I can’t say this you
So I rhyme to myself
I walk through this world,
I am the elf on the shelf
I see you laughing and talking
Holding hands as you’re walking
But do you care to look back?
At who you left in the black?
I was waiting for you
I thought my wish had come true
But here I am waiting
Wondering where did you go?
You left me alone
I all have is this pen
So I’m here writing again
Writing, bleeding the words
I know they’ll never be heard
Like an owl,
But what I say is absurd
