Hyokomi
Bending down to pull me up
From my own pit-had some bad luck;
Out of my mind, must be a trap.
I’ve lost myself. And you’re the map.
I lost the path a while back
And tried to make my own.
Turn left of right, try as I might
The answers are still out of sight
Calendar exes appear on my heart
and loneliness-a form of art.
The brush of time and paint of gray…
I never thought I’d see the day.
Low-flying comments and high-rise glances
Graced me as I went to classes.
A two act show my life became:
Survive the grind, and deal with shame.
But oh, one day, the sun broke through.
And all my confidence was made anew.
A drop of real in the insincere sea:
Thank you for being you, Hyokomi
