Hypocritical ... me?
Proverbs 16:1
16 The intentions of the heart belong to a man,
but the answer of the tongue comes from the Lord.
Hypocritical
Unconsciously feeling became part of my life seemingly an overkill
Enslaving my will as such ... preventing my spirit to adapt God’s will
The first became my principled life ... not recognizing the many dangers
Now my “will” build on sinking sand... and acts more like a stranger
Intuition in the spirit is ... the sensitive part of me
It is that part the Lord Jesus brought for me to see
I was dead and He found me ... He opened my eyes
As He lifted me out of deadness ... and put me into Life
But now my flesh shouts ... through feelings and emotions
“Pay attention to me ... you owe me all your devotion!”
When I pay no attention ... it will grab my throat
As it crams me into depression ... until my fuses overload
This makes me quick to anger speeding through frustration
Knocking on every door ... trying to escape this sensation
Running into folks ... not noticing them at all
as I label them quickly as: “None are good or care”
Prodigal I am ... just feeding a bunch of swine
They don’t see me at all ... but are communicating well
They are never frustrated only irritated once in a while
As I take their food ... and adopt their very smell
Intuition is only active ... when emotions are quiet
Through the ruckus of emotion ... my spirit gets compromised
“Ears that not hear”... “Eyes that not see,” even the time of day
Thinking all things are made for me and these should go my way
Distinction of voice has my spirit ... “What does it sound like?” you ask
Well let me think about that brother ... I can’t remember when I heard it last
What? “You go to church every Sunday ... with a bible in your hand
And I should know reading it daily ... and I still don’t understand?”
“You look so clean and well behaved ... everyone thinks you really have got it
And now you tell me, it is just an act ... and you don’t know anything about it?
Is your life just a routine ... of good habits you’ve developed?
Are you just like a machine ... that runs on juice that is borrowed?”
“Now I asked you where that juice comes from and you have the patent?
You just burn without a thought for self ... and for own indulgence
You want me just to be like you ... and follow your example
You said that you’re bought with a price and I can’t even have a sample”
“Keep on trucking, little man,” ... is that all you can say?
You look at every one that’s lost and don’t give them time a day
Coming back to the voice you’ve heard, “where did you say it came from?”
Oh! You already forgot about that? You’re right. It is not that important
