I

Why do I love you? Let me count the ways.

One: If the world turns gray, you show me light.

Two: Your light blue eyes and your so tender gaze.

Three: Your light blond hair, soft as always.

Four: Your lopsided smile always puts me right.

As of late, things have not been quite as nice,

You ignore me, as does ev’ryone else,

I know that it has happened only twice,

And it seems it’s my turn to pay the price,

But I still love you, and my heart still melts.

A poem from this day on, until school’s out,

Once or twice a week, always the same place,

I’ll send a poem, you don’t need to e’er doubt,

And maybe, I’ll be saved by your grace.
