I Adore You

I adore you for the city you are,

Each streetlight a path you made for me,

For each time I was lost and needed you.

Your face is brighter than the New York skyline,

Blinding me with your glorious smile.

Even with your slums, I admire you;

Your shelter everytime you were alone.

I would give up all my comforts for you,

Ensuing that you have the best I can give.

I cry for you whenever you are pained,

Though you do not know how I truly feel,

You already know I'm here for you.

I couldn't ask for anymore but love,

Even if it remains unrequited.
