I Always Will

I used to think you were the reason the sun shines everyday

But now I know you were the reason

I carved lines into my skin each night

I thought you were fixing all my broken parts

But you were only making them smaller

You were controlling

I couldn’t wear heels

I couldn’t hang out with my guy friends

I was not allowed to be bisexual

I couldn’t hold my friend’s hand

But you could talk to your girl friends

You could hug you girl friends

You never wanted to hold my hand

And as much as hate you

You will always hold a piece of my heart

If you called at two in the morning asking for help

I would drop everything

I hate you

But

Oh

How

I

Love

You
