I Am
I am the daughter of an African Queen and an African King whose world does not treat them as such.
I am a child of a race whose identity rather be shown to the world through numbers and dashes.
I am a girl from a world who thinks that giving themselves up is better than going out in the world and getting a career.
I am a girl who some people will judge due my darkness but have yet to see my light.
I am someone who prefers the company of Maya Angelou and Langston Hughes and listen to the sweet melodies sounds of Mary J.Blige, Henry Jackman, and Hans Zimmerman.
I am someone who comes from a generation who work hard and strive for success even though the world around them treats them as if they were worthless.
I am bright, talented, and unique and the world can never shun nor cage or treat me as if I were unclean I am a queen who will always keep her head up despite people's hateful glares.
