I Am...

I AM…

I was a caterpillar

Each day I existed; my life meaningless and without purpose

All I had was a desire to eat

I bit into Satan’s apple and thought it sweet

I was a caterpillar

When the apple turned rotten in my mouth I knew change was needed

Nature brought me back to myself

The process was long, painful, and time marched on

I was a caterpillar

But today, I am changed

Today I am full of life

Today I am full of happiness

Today I am full of love

Today I am God’s proof of second chances

Today I am made new

I am a butterfly
