I Am

I take away the smiles of millions
From older people all the way down to children
When you find me there's never a loving thing to say
All I do is take your loved ones away

Sometimes people get rid of me
But I'm never gone too long
I can attack your liver, brain, breasts and even lungs

Hoping one day that my existence is no more
Parents who live long lives with kids that they adore
Healthy babies who have a chance to achieve their dreams
The ones who are brave enough to say it isn't as bad as it seems

My life isn't full of glamour
No fashionable outfits or flashing cameras
Just short days, pains and anger
I Am. . . Cancer
