I am
I am.
I am the kid you see walking down the hallway with no notice
I am the Asian-yet-Philopino looking guy with the ponytail
I am the Asian who doesn't want to be known as an Asian, fearing of what petty stereotypes come at me and asks "Are you Asian?" Or "Do you know how to make egg rolls?"
I am the happy-yet sometimes awkward to talk to when you have no one else to conversate with
I am the dude who tries to make friends at the new school, but isolates himself, knowing that being alone is more authentic in this generation
I am the boy who seems nice, is cheerful, has friends, and can play sports but in reality, doesn't really want any of that
I am the over thinker, scared of what people are going to say if I wear this with that, should I approach her, what should I say, but in fact. All I ever wanted was to be accepted.
This is who I was.
