I Am....
I am a woman.
I am as simple as any other nested life form.
Built up of protons, neutrons, electrons,
up quarks, down quarks, qwubbles.
Three basic thoughts:
Eat, sleep, reproduce.
But if I am so simple, why does living feel so complicated?
Why am I feeling the need to get wasted?
Maybe because as I child I cut and pasted,
into my girlhood mentality,
cut outs from the magazines that came in the mail.
"10 Tips To Cut Down On That Stomach!"
They bragged,
"Become Sexy! Make Them OBSESSED!"
The industry fat cats pumping out these lies,
are big pretentious adults standing over a little girl
who barely comes up to their hips,
convincing, enforcing,
screaming.
You aren't good enough.
You can only be what a man says you can be.
You are take up too much space.
You talk too much.
You cannot be both smart and beautiful.
You must choose.
I am smart and beautiful.
I am a woman with words of power, and words of intelligence.
I am standing against the people who state,
that my ability in a leadership position,
is dicatated by the fact that I menstruate.
Yet they forget,
that we are bleeding by the moon cycles, and the tides.
I am a woman, and could not be more proud.
