I Am...

The World.

It tears us apart,

It makes our minds swirl.

It screams out standards

We think we must meet,

"You have to look like these models,"

But that's an expectation we cannot beat.

They say to be skinny,

And pretty,

And perfect,

But sometimes the outcomes just aren't worth it.

The world-

It tells us how we're supposed to be.

They make petty assumptions,

But is that all they see?

I am a child of The One True God,

He loves me unconditionally,

Even through my flaws.

I am made perfect in His image,

He makes no mistakes.

I was made to be an example for Him,

But sometimes I break.

I fall,

And I cry,

And I am unworthy to be saved,

But God looks down on me and says, "it is by my grace."

I am a child of the One True God,

I am loved,

I am wanted,

And I am strong.

Through Christ I can overcome the insecurities and shame,

And it is only His glory that I will proclaim.
