I Am

I once occupied the fields on a vine

Where I reached out for the sun

Hoping to become a spendid sign

But then the child came, and i knew I was done

The petals that I once called mine were gone

Plucked a ravaged into many peices

I would never see another dawn

I lied their with my creases

With time and light, I will grow again

Never again will I be pulled from my root

Never will I be that child's gain

I am no longer mute

I am the only one that can turn on the light

I am the only one with a story to write
