I Am...

Who was I?

At first, I was

Unsure,

Insecure,

A victim of my own self

Having been broken

One too many times.

As they all say,

"Things get better."

Who am I now?

I am a friend,

A lover,

A young woman.

I am coming to terms

With myself.

I am beautiful and

I am strong.

I am successful and I will

Rise up from the ashes of my past

And make something of myself.

I am.
