I Am...

How do I define who I am?

One word to resolve it just isn’t enough.

You can’t use some letters

To pin down personalities,

Or several characters

To define our mentalities.

The words that we have are too great and too many

To choose only one to determine each other.

We ought to consider the other words out there

Before we apply them to describe one another.

Instead of just pretty,

She’s graceful and cute.

Rather than small,

He is short and minute.

Because she is smart,

She’s apt and astute.

The words that we use are hugely important,

Their meanings are even more so.

So let us not judge with a single word answer,

Yet realize what the words show.

Words are a blessing,

A gift from our minds.

Therefore, we should use them,

To the end of time.

I know that I haven’t chosen a word.

But how can I, after all that I’ve said?

The only word that I think in my head

Would have to be

Diverse.
