I Am...

I am from the blank pages of an unopened book.

From empty stares and muted cries.

I am from broken pieces and false happiness.

Walls that seem to keep closing in.

I am from restless nights and somewhat thoughtless days.

From bottled up feelings and pouring rain.

I am from cold, dark nights and hot, bright summers.

From a world full of love tainted by hate.

So full of hope but crushed by society.

From "I don't have's" and "I really need's".

I'm from lost emotion and soft cries.

From the pitter patter of my nephew's small feet,

and the innocence of the unknown.

I am from the depths of a soul that once shined so bright:

Caring, protecting.

But gets colder every night.

From the thouhts in my notebook

to the music in my ears,

I'm taking my life lessons and putting away fears.

From this moment on I will forgive and forget.

A challange that has yet to be met.
