I am...
You cower in fear for that hand is not so kind.
You search in the dirt for food you will not find.
You whimper at night hoping someone will hear.
You miss that master you held so dear.
You cuddle up like left trash.
You have been slashed.
They glance away as you tug at a chain.
You are in much pain.
Your master has abandoned you,
left you tied.
You quench your thrist by digging a hole in the dirt and wait.
The sun is hot as it rises.
Your stomach aches.
You pull until you are too tired to move.
You stayed for three days and nights,
no one came, and its not right.
You were a friend,
not a loose end.
A family member
who deserved much better.
I watched you as you were brought in,
looking so grim.
You were not treated right,
despite your birthright.
Only a human could atend to you,
and break you.
Cruelty is not just leaving a animal outside during winter or summer,
but leaving them without food or water.
You brought to stay, not just for a day.
Keep your family.
