I AM...

 I AM

I am a benchwarmer and a starter.

I wonder why I play this sport.

I hear coach yelling.

I see that I am back on the bench.

I want to start every game.

I am a bench warmer and a starter.

I pretend that I know what I am doing.

I feel like I did something wrong.

I touch the ball.

I worry that I will go back to the bench.

I cry because I am back on the bench.

I am a benchwarmer and a starter.

I understand that benchwarmers are important too.

I say “put me in coach”.

I dream for a threepeat.

I try to maintain my starting position.

I hope that my benchwarming days are over.

I am a benchwarmer and a starter.
