I am

I am human and fearful

I wonder with all odds faced against me how would I rise

I hear fire coming from those who do not believe

I see my friends dying everyday

I want to live

I am human and fearful

I pretend I am superwoman

I feel the pain of those hurting

I touch freedom

I worry if I will survive

I cry tears of forgiveness

I am human and fearful

I understand that sometimes I will lose

I say what doesn't kill me makes me stronger

I dream of peace

I try to understand

I hope for understanding

I am human and fearful
