I am the girl who sat in the corner.

I am the girl who had few friends.

I am the girl who was bullied

Because I couldn't talk like everybody,

Although I wanted to talk like everybody,

Ever since I recovered from hearing loss as an infant.

I am the girl who stayed up all night doing homework.

I am the girl who had a learning problem.

I am the girl who had a hard time trying to understand

All the problems that my teachers handed out on paper,

And since I stuggled fixing those problems on the paper,

The doctors said I would never get to go to college.

I am the girl who is in college.

I am the girl who is earning her degree.

I am the girl who will let nothing stop me

From achieving my dreams

Because anything is possible,

Because I am the girl who went to college.
