I Am
I am from soccer balls and goalie gloves
From Playstation 2 and hot Cali weather
I am from the streets and back alleys
(black top burns from
playing in the streets)
I am from the family tree,
That was chopped down
I am from being the 5 out of 8 child but the role model
From Eusebio and Rafaela
I’m from am I good enough?
From tráeme una chela! From your the example mijo.
I am from never talking back to my father
I’m from the streets
with bloody, banged up knees
from playing street soccer
I'm from a dysfunctional family,
A family that fell apart.
I’m from that house that isn't my home,
From a broken branch grafted onto a different family tree.
I'm from sitting in the cold nights alone,
Where the stars represent more.
They are wishes of a better past,
But we all know that it’s too late for that.
So now it's for a better future.
I'm from a different story.
