I Am

I am not just a being

Or just a person

But a growing intellectual

I am who I’ve always generally wished to be

Maybe I’m not a pop star or a veterinarian

But I am one who strives to help

And to succeed

And to love

Living easy has never been an option for me

However my extensive grappling is what fed my now matured understanding and talents

I would not know how to live my life if I had not been shoved and prodded as much as I was

I am a solace friend

A determined daughter

A developing child

Though I shall always exist a child in my heart

For I know that’s what manages my sanity most sufficiently

-the ability to laugh at myself and whatever may strike me

I am but an ocean

Rising and curling to fall again

-fail until I learn

-fail until I reach the shore of pensive respite

I am simply a soul fighting to flourish in contentedness

To be being is just to exist, though to be an individual is to be a growing intellectual, which is what I strive to succeed.
