I Am
I am
I was the tom boy who never really thought girls were cool.
I was the "bad" kid who everyone tried to stay away from.
I was the bully,
the one tearing people down, for no apparent reason.
I was the boss of everyone on the playground,
the queen.
I was the red head,
preferably, "strawberry blonde".
I was the weird and funny girl,
who lived to make everyone laugh.
I was happy and innocent,
ignorance surrounded me.
I was starting highschool,
as the most insecure girl in the whole school.
I was starting to hate every inch of myself.
I was the "why do you always look so sad?'
I was the "What are those scars on your wrists?"
Followed by a, "Oh, it was my cat."
I was the girl who hated her parents,
even thought that was popular being a teen.
I was lost.
I am found.
I am beautiful.
I am the unpopular feminist that knows that everyone is equal no matter what label you have stapled into your skin.
I am uplifting, despite my past of destroying everthing and everyone around me.
And even though I still struggle,
I am forgiving of myself,
because no one can hurt you as bad as the thoughts that are engraved in your head.
I am Allyson,
not whole, but definitely getting there.
